In a country where loneliness among the seniors is an endemic problem, we have to make the companionship between husband and wife more meaningful, accommodating and above all, loving. Mr. Jea could not do that.<br /><br />I would have liked to add quite a few things of Mr. Jea's personality. For instance, after Mrs. Jea's sad demise, I introduced him to an Indian Senior Center. There were some Gujarati Muslims also in the group and I felt Mr. Jea would benefit from their company. Our members were keen bridge players, and the moment Mr Jea saw them with cards, he was furious. "What kind of Muslims are you? Gambling with cards? God forbid..." and he stomped off. Well, that was the life he chose, and lost, not only his wife but also the son who cared so much for his father.Capt.
